#GrabYourWallet fails to dissuade Millennial Women from Buying Trump

The efforts of the #GrabYourWallet campaign to boycott all Trump-related purchases continues to flounder.

In an article posted in Forbes on 26 October 2016:

A BrandKeys survey of Ivanka’s target market — millennial woman with disposable income — found that 51% of respondents were still “extremely” or “very” willing to keep her clothes and shoes on their shopping lists.

L.L. Bean has delivered the best response to the boycott yet by saying:

To be included in this boycott campaign is simply misguided, and we respectfully request that Grab Your Wallet reverse its position.

L.L Bean Releases Statement on #GrabYourWallet Boycott

In a story appearing in the Boston Globe on 9 January 2017, the Maine-based company L.L. Bean gave a unique response to the #GrabYourWallet boycott effort which has turned focus to the retailer after discovering that Linda Bean donated money to the Trump campaign.

The chairman of the board, Shawn Gorman, posted this letter on Facebook on Sunday 8 January:

We were disappointed to learn that Grab Your Wallet is advocating a boycott against L.L.Bean solely because Linda Bean, who is only one of 50+ family members involved with the business, personally supported Donald Trump for President.
L.L.Bean has been a family-owned business since it began back in 1912. L.L.Bean is a values driven company that has long been inspiring people to live life outdoors. For the last 105 years, L.L.Bean has been singularly focused on offering high-quality, satisfaction-guaranteed products and outstanding customer service in the Maine tradition. This commitment has allowed us to not only employ 5,000 hard-working people, but also donate tens of millions of dollars to non-profit organizations promoting environmental stewardship, educational attainment and a host of other worthy causes at the local, state and national levels.
Our owners, employees, and customers hold views and embrace causes that are individual and diverse. We are united by our love for the outdoors and our guiding principles established back in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean himself who believed “do unto others” was not just a saying, but a way of life. We fully acknowledge and respect that some may disagree with the political views of a single member of our 10-person board of directors. Like most large families, the more than 50 family member-owners of the business hold views and embrace causes across the political spectrum, just as our employees and customers do. And as every member of the family would agree, no individual alone speaks on behalf of the business or represents the values of the company that L.L. built.
With this in mind, we are deeply troubled by the portrayal of L.L.Bean as a supporter of any political agenda.
L.L.Bean does not endorse political candidates, take positions on political matters, or make political contributions. Simply put, we stay out of politics. To be included in this boycott campaign is simply misguided, and we respectfully request that Grab Your Wallet reverse its position.

L.L.Bean Executive Chairman

According to the Globe article, Linda Bean’s politics were already known having ran two unsuccessful campaigns to join Congress as a Republican. Her most recent sin was to donate $60,000 to the Making America Great Again LLC.

Ivanka Stepping Down from her Fashion Brand, Trump Org

According to US Magazine,

In order to comply with ethics laws, Ivanka, 35, will step down from her role as executive vice president of development and acquisitions at the Trump Organization and head of her eponymous fashion brand, Kushner’s attorney said in a statement to Vanity Fair on Monday, January 9. She will sell all of her common stock and will receive only fixed payments on certain projects related to the family business so that she does not benefit from the company’s profits.

I wonder what the brilliant minds behind #GrabYourWallet will think, since their impetus is to punish the consumer brands connected to the Trumps?

Wait, no. I don’t care what they think.

Good luck, Ivanka.

Ivanka meets Queen Rania

Ivanka met with Queen Rania of Jordan at Trump Tower on Wednesday 4 January 2017.

Queen Rania has always been a wonderful influence for women, and pioneered modern beneficial gold digging. Queen Rania and now Kate Middleton are both gold diggers par excellence, in that they achieved their clear goal of marrying into royalty but had run their lives so admirably that on a personal level, they are better people than their husbands.

Ivanka and Queen Rania probably spoke about women’s issues, but just look at these two!

Make sure to follow Queen Rania on Instagram.

Alibaba’s Jack Ma at Trump Tower

[developing]

e-Commerce retailer Jack Ma of Alibaba has arrived at Trump Tower in New York.

No word yet on why he’s visiting, and whether this will lead the Chinese retailer to opening up an IPO in America.

According to Wikipedia, Alibaba’s Paypal-like service Alipay is:

an online payment escrow service, accounts for roughly half of all online payment transactions within China.

Peter Thiel of Paypal is already involved in Trump’s transition team. Maybe this will mean in the future it will be much, much easier for businesses and consumers to sell and buy their wares online worldwide.

GQ’s Finest Minds Compare Trump’s Rise to Kim K’s Butt

Only a week into 2017 and we already have a major contender for the most airheaded thinkpiece of the year.

Drumroll-

HOW THE FASHION INDUSTRY FORETOLD THE RISE OF DONALD TRUMP

Thank you, GQ, for this beautiful gift of an essay.

Everyone waking up in middle America right now knows that it wasn’t a country-fueled, widespread electoral college victory that handed Trump the keys.

Suzy Menkes explains her logic.

Let’s see this fashion movement as a precursor to Donald Trump’s up-turning of America’s presidential race, with his lewd comments, sexy wife and rabble-rousing. To some, a Kardashian backside might seem as distasteful as a Trump rant. But millions love Kim’s look as much as they gave the thumbs-down to the Hillary Clinton trouser suit.

When all you’ve got is an empty head, everything looks like a hat.

Condé Nast Staffers Act Like Children at Trump Tower

With less than two weeks til inaug, crybaby staffers wasted their afternoons outside of Trump Tower while their overlords Anna Wintour, Graydon Carter and David Remnick met with DJT.

Wearing white is a nod to the Suffragette movement, and was also a veiled reference to the campaign of Trump’s presidential rival Hillary Clinton, who donned a white pantsuit when she clinched the Democratic nomination this summer.

Shocking reports indicate that the protesters even (gasp) Instagrammed their field trip with the hate-tag #notmypresident.

As for the actual content of the meeting, Politicoreports that Trump fielded questions on “everything from abortion to Russia,” with their anonymous source adding that it “wasn’t personal.”

WhatTrumpWore has not reached out to Condé Nast for comment on which staffers were involved in the protest because we do not care.

Condé Nast Staffers Staged a ‘Fashion Protest’ During Trump’s Visit

Anna Wintour visits Trump Tower

According to a tweet posted this morning, DJT will be meeting with mag powerhouse Condé Nast.

Anna Wintour already popped in to Trump Tower to see Donald back on 13 December 2016, the same day that Kanye made his memorable appearance.

Wintour is the artistic director for Condé Nast and the editor in chief of Vogue Magazine on top of being a known Hillary supporter.

Street Style: Ivanka Trump

Thursday 5 January 2017, NYC

The Daily Mail reports:

Although the temperatures were only in the upper 20s, Ivanka walked out of the gold gilded doors of her building in a tan wool coat worn over a $128 purple floral wrap dress from her eponymous collection.

Ivanka’s hair and coat flapped in the chilling breeze, and she paired the look with sunglasses, a blue clutch, and gray suede heels from her shoe line, as she headed to work.
